Mclaren's David Coulthard, however, had a good race, finishing fourth.
The Briton was hit by Ferrari's Rubens Barrichello on the first lap. Barrichello ended up in the back of the field following a pitstop for a new front wing.
"I had some balance problems throughout the race following the incident. In addition I picked up some debris from Kimi's accident which broke the deflector on my front wing," said Coulthard.
