Nalbandian seems to play his best tennis against the big guns. One of the best counter-punchers in the men's game, he achieved his Top 10 ranking last season without winning a tournament. A measure of his consistency, his game plan is simple: make fewer unforced errors than your opponent.
He reached the final of the Kooyong International by defeating Andy Roddick and that will give him a lot of confidence.
