Ferrero is placed in the bottom half along with second seed Roger Federer and Australian hope Lleyton Hewitt.
The young Spaniard is without doubt one of the finest players of this generation on clay. He proved that by winning the French Open in 2003. But his Australian Open preparations were left in disarray after he was dumped out of the Sydney International by unknown Australian teenager Chris Guccione.
