Brazil's 1994 World Cup forward Romario has announced his retirement, the Rio de Janeiro-based newspaper O Globo said on Tuesday.
The newspaper said the 38-year-old former Barcelona, Valencia and PSV Eindhoven forward announced the news during an interview in Florianopolis, southern Brazil, where he is on holiday.
He was reported as saying: "I've stopped. I can't go on any more. I don't have the will any more."
