The striker earned bitter-sweet revenge over Real Madrid. He was released on loan this season after spending most of last season on the bench.

"I was hoping it would not happen. I played for Real for six years and I felt loved by the fans. Fate forced me to play against friends. It hurt to beat them but I must not think about it too much," Morientes said.
