UEFA Champions League
Mikael Silvestre scored the first goal for Manchester United in a 5-0 rout against Panathinaikos in their opening Group E Champions League game at Old Trafford in Manchester, England, on Tuesday.
The English Premier League champions have played in the Champions League every year since 1994 and reached the semi-finals in 1997. They won the Champions League for the second time in 1999, the first one being in 1968.
