East Bengal medio Debjit Ghosh, who was hospitalised after a head injury during the ASEAN Club football championship quarter-final match in Jakarta on Monday, is now out of danger, but his chances of playing in the semi-final were remote.
Ghosh, who collided with Indonesian outfit Persita Tangerang's Zaenal Arif in the 42nd minute of the first half and fell unconscious, was released from hospital at Indonesian local time 8.00 pm (6.30 pm IST).
"He is out of danger. There is no need to worry," the sources said, adding "but his chances of turning up for the semi final are remote".
East Bengal, who overcame Persita Tangerang 2-1 in the quarter-final, will clash with another Indonesian club Petrokimia Putra in the pre-summit round on Thursday.
Debjit underwent a CT Scan in the hospital, but there was nothing abnormal in the report, club sources said. The former Indian skipper is now resting in the team hotel.
