The Year That Was - F1

The Hungarian Grand Prix

Renault's Fernando Alonso created history when he won the Hungarian Grand Prix to become Formula One's youngest race winner.

The Spaniard, who completed 22 on July 29, replaced American Troy Ruttman in the record books as the youngest race winner. He also became the first Spaniard to win a Grand Prix.

Kimi Raikkonen finished second while Juan Pablo Montoya was third.

The results of the race placed the championship on a knife-edge, with the top three contenders separated by just two points: Michael Schumacher on 72, Juan Pablo Montoya on 71 and Kimi Raikkonen on 70.
