A Welcome for Heroes

The players and the team management left London's Marble Arch monument in two open-top buses and travelled along Oxford street to Oxford Circus, then down Regent Street, around Piccadilly Circus, down Haymarket to Trafalgar Square for a civic reception.

The last time a World Cup came into England was in 1966 when the country's football team triumphed over West Germany.
