Jaouad Gharib of Morocco offers a prayer of thanks after winning the men's marathon in a championship record time of 2hr 8min 31sec.
After the race, Gharib delayed a telephone conversation with King Mohammed VI of Morocco to tell the world's press about his love for the marathon.
"Anyone who saw me run my debut in Rotterdam would see that I am a marathon runner and I think I have proved that in Paris," he said
