Cronje's testimony live on radio, TV

Hansie Cronje, disgraced South Africa captain, will appear before the King Commission tomorrow and his testimony will be broadcast live on radio and television (SuperSport 2 on DSTV).

This follows a court battle in Cape Town, where LANN (Live Africa News Network) contested Judge King's refusal to let radio and television broadcast the hearings, except when the witness wanted to have the microphones or camera in operation.

Cronje had opposed the presence of any electronic media.

Counsel for LANN, Anwar Albertus SC, announced to the court after the lunch break that an agreement had been brokered between the parties during the three adjournments.

LANN's attorney Michael Murphy said one entire day has been set aside for Cronje's testimony.

LANN chief executive, Paul Cainer Martin, said the ruling was a great victory for the freedom of information.
