The Arjuna awards were presented by President K R Narayanan in the Ashoka hall of Rashtrapati Bhavan on Tuesday. Twenty-three sportspersons, including eight in the lifetime achievement category, were selected for the annual awards for excellence in sports. India's best quarter-miler Milkha Singh, who bettered the Olympic record at the Rome Olympics but missed a bronze medal, basks in glory as his champion golfer son Chirajeev displays his Arjuna award.
