Statistical Highlights 2nd match: India v West Indies at Toronto on 12-9-99

• This match was the 1498th in Limited overs international (LOI) history.

• This match was India's 415th and West Indies's 378th in LOIs.

• This match was the 62nd meeting between the two sides.

• New Zealand umpire Steve Dunne was officiating in his 75th LOI match. Now, only Australian Steve Randell (88 matches), Englishman David Shepherd (86) and Australian Tony Crafter (84) have umpired in more matches than Dunne in LOIs.

• Ricardo Powell's lone six takes his tally of sixes to 16 in six innings (and 7 matches). He has now scored 268 runs in just 229 balls and has a batting strike-rate of 117.03 runs per 100 balls. His present batting strike-rate is now the best by any batsman with an aggregate of atleast 50 runs in LOI history.

• The three dismissals (all catches) by MSK Prasad was his personal best of his career in his seventh match.

• The partnership of 57 runs between Nikhil Chopra and Sunil Joshi was India's fifth best and the second best for the 8th wicket against the West Indies. The unbeaten partnership of 60 runs between Ravi Shastri and Madan Lal at Indore on 1-12-1983 remains the best against West Indies for this wicket.

• Incidentally, it was India's best for this wicket this decade surpassing the previous best of 55 between Navjot Sidhi and Javagal Srinath at Singapore on 3-4-1996.

• Merv Dillon's bowling figures of 8-2-8-2 was the third most economical by any bowler bowling at least eight overs against India in a LOI match. Australian Carl Rackeman (8-4-7-3 at Trivandrum on 1-10-1984) and New Zealander Ewan Chatfield (9.4-4-9-2 at Perth on 18-1-1986) are the only ones to have better economical figures than Dillon.

• India's total of 120 was its seventh lowest in LOIs and the second lowest against the West Indies. The lowest against the Windies still remains as 100 at Ahmedabad on 16-11-1993.

• It was India's second lowest against any team at a neutral venue. The total of 113 against New Zealand at Perth (Australia) on 18-1-1986 remains its lowest at a neutral venue.

• It was also the second lowest at this venue after Pakistan's 116 against India on 14-9-1997.

• West Indies's 26 extras were the top-scorer for India, with Sunil Joshi's 25 being the second highest. It provided the 16th such instance in LOI history when extras either top-scored or was the equal highest scorer in an innings. This was the only second occasion involving India. Interestingly, the first occasion was also at this same venue when extras of 26 top-scored (with Tendulkar's 23 being the top-score of the bat) against Pakistan on 23-9-1996.

• The ten wides conceded by Reon King was the second most by any bowler at this venue. Pakistani Azhar Mahmood had conceded 13 against India on 18-9-1997.

• The man of match award was Sherwin Campbell's second of his career in 55 matches. He last won an award against Australia at Bridgetown on 25-4-1999.
