72 vehicles cross Zoji-La... and it's a record!

Zoji La. Literally translated, it means the mountain pass of blizzards.
A vital Himalayan pass that links Ladakh and the Kashmir valley, it is often shut in winter due to heavy snowfall.
But, this year, the Border Roads Organisation managed a miracle. For the first time ever, 72 vehicles crossed Zoji La on January 2; this pass, incidentally, is also the second highest pass on the Srinagar-Leh highway.
It's not been an easy task for the BRO, which has been fighting difficult weather conditions -- including temperatures as low as -19 degrees and heavy snowfall -- to keep this historic pass open.
Train driver saves man's life

But Anand Malligavad is determined not to let that happen.
He is determined to save the city's lakes. And has quit his job as a mechanical engineer in order to do so. In fact, he has already revived 12 lakes.
He hopes that his cost-effective method will soon be implemented across the country.
He has 11 COVID vaccine shots. Or so he claims.

It's a strange, strange, tale in these strange, strange, times.
An 84-year-old man claims to have received the COVID-19 vaccine 11 times.
Brahmadev Mandal, a resident of Puraini in Bihar's Madhepura district, says the vaccine helped him fight many diseases and has relieved his body pain to a great extent.
"I never fell ill since I started taking the vaccine and my health has started to improve," he says.
Brahmadev claims to have registered himself for vaccination on a single phone number and Aadhaar card.
"We are looking into the matter; medical records will be cross checked. If the claim is true, then a complaint will be lodged," said Dr Amarendra Pratap Shahi, civil surgeon, Madhepura.
