Cycling 11,000 km to save Nature
Date: February 5
Location: Vijayawada

When you love Nature, you'll do anything for it.

Prasanjit Das, a youngster from West Bengal, decided to cycle across the country.

"I have travelled more than 11,300 km," he said on February 4 in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, "across 22 states." And he plans to cover more.

The reason? He has a few messages that he wants his fellow Indians to take seriously.

First and foremost, he wants people to save Nature.

He advises people "to plant trees, save water and donate blood twice a year" when they talk to him about his unusual journey.

Have you visited the Igloo Cafe?

Date: February 6
Location: Gulmarg

It's India's first. And Asia's biggest. The cafe, in fact, claims it's the world's largest such restaurant as well.

Which is why, if you are planning a visit to Gulmarg in Kashmir, the Igloo Cafe should be part of your itinerary.

Built of -- what else? -- snow, this interesting concept has come from the Kolahoi Green Group of Hotels and Resorts.

And those who have visited it can't stop smiling -- and shivering a bit; it is cold, you know -- at their innovative experience.

Meet India's Nest Man!
Date: February 6
Location: New Delhi

2.5 lakhs nests.

That's a mindboggling number.

And an even larger number of birds who would be grateful to Rakesh Khatri if they knew what he was doing for them,

Over the years, not only has Khatri, who is known as the 'Nest Man', built these homes for birds in New Delhi, he has also taught people -- including thousands of students -- how to build these nests themselves.

Besides winning numerous awards for building these shelters for birds, he has been named in the Limca Book of Records and has a chapter dedicated to him in ICSE's Class 4 textbook.

Chirp, chirp, as the birds would say. More power to Khatri.

Beggar accepts alms on PhonePe, Paytm
Date: February 8
Location: Bettiah

You don't have change for this beggar from Bettiah, Bihar? No problem.

He hangs a QR code around his neck. A quick scan and you can give him the amount you want.

He uses payment methods like PhonePe and Paytm for his transactions.

His innovative method has resulted in passers-by giving him more alms.

More bird-rescuers in Delhi!
Date: February 9
Location: New Delhi

It's not just Rakesh Khatri who's saving Delhi's birds.

While Khatri builds them nests, brothers Nadeem Sehzaad and Mohammed Saud treat injured birds of prey.

They have been doing this since 19 years, they say, and have rescued 23,000 birds so far.

"Our charitable organisation is called Wildlife Rescue," says Nadeem Sehzaad. "I got it registered in 2010, but we have been involved in the treatment of these birds since 2003."

Even as kids, says his brother Mohammed Saud, they were always helping animals.

Take a look.

The sizzling Shetty sisters
Date: February 9
Location: Mumbai

There is no doubt that the Shetty sisters -- Shilpa and Shamita -- are gorgeous. And the cameras just love them.

After Shamita's stint in Bigg Boss, the sisters -- who are known to be very close -- have been making sure they spend enough time with each other.

Quadruplets!
Date: February 11
Location: Kottayam

For 15 years, this childless couple from Kottayam, Kerala, yearned for a child.

And now, they are parents to not one, not two, but four lovely children.

In an extremely rare delivery, 42-year-old Prasanna Suresh -- who had undergone numerous medical treatments -- gave birth to quadruplets, three boys and a girl on February 17.

The couple named their first born, Shankar, after Lord Shiva.

The quadruplets were born within one minute of each other in a private hospital.
