Ram Navami, the birth anniversary of Lord Ram, was celebrated with religious fervour and gaiety across Mumbai on Tuesday.

Thousands thronged temples in the morning and kirtans and classical dances were organisd to pay obeisance.

Kalpangan Sanskrutik Kendra, working towards enhancing performing arts in the city, organised a Bharatnatyam show to celebrate Ram Navami. It saw the participation of 40 child artistes.

Ramrang, a semi-classical dance ballet on the songs from the Geetramayana, left the audiences enthralled.

The ballet choreographed by Kalpita Rane, who is trained in Bharatnatyam, depicted the aspects of the life of Lord Rama and his spiritual journey. The light setup by Arun Madkaikar, sound editing by Prashant Pawar, costumes by Nisha and production management by R Nishi made the show a great success.
