The Cabinet reshuffle of October 28 seems to have left some Congress ministers dismayed. While some are reportedly upset over being demoted, others are unhappy about being ignored for key ministerial posts.

Now take the case of Shashi Tharoor.

Tharoor, who had to quit as the minister of state of external affairs in April 2010 in the wake of allegations of wrongdoing in buying stakes in an IPL team, made a comeback as the minister of state in the human resource development ministry.

But the member of Parliament from Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala is reportedly sulking about having being asked to work under M M Pallam Raju, who is one of the youngest ministers to assume the post of HRD minister.

Though he will assume his charge on November 2, Tharoor's friends privately confided about his disappointment; that he was named simply as a MoS despite being once considered for the UN secretary general's post.

Jaipal Reddy, who has been given the science and technology ministry, is deeply upset by his transfer from the petroleum and natural gas ministry and did not come to handover charge to new minister Veerappa Moily.

RPN Singh, who has been shifted from petroleum to home in Cabinet reshuffle, welcomed Moily, who was among the first ones to report to their new offices on Monday morning.

Reddy had been accused of being indecisive and almost halting oil and gas exploration.

Reddy's transfer is seen as a demotion and reports have appeared that he was transferred for his run-in with Reliance Industries owned by Mukesh Ambani

Jairam Ramesh and controversies seem to go hand-in-hand during his stint as minister for rural development.

After he dramatically highlighted the sanitation situation in the country through statements like 'the country needs more toilets than temples' and 'don't get married into a house where there are no toilets", Sunday's reshuffle came as a rude shock for the minister.

Ahead of the reshuffle, the prime minister called up Ramesh to convey to him that the drinking water and sanitation departments were being taken away from his ministry's purview.

Dr Singh allocated the portfolio to Bharatsin Solanki with independent charge.

A reportedly miffed Ramesh hurriedly cancelled his visit to Kerala, where he was supposed to have opened a seminar on drinking water.

D Purandeswari was apparently told by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh that she would be given independent charge of the commerce ministry.

However, hours before the Sunday's swearing in ceremony a senior official in the Prime Minister's Office spoiled her party.

The official announced that she would be shifted from the human resource development ministry to the commerce ministry with a status of minister of state.

The daughter of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N T Rama Rao will now work under Anand Sharma.
