While Delhi remains the crime capital of the country, the actual number of cogniSable offences filed in the city fell in 2011 compared to the past five years, according to the National Crime Research Bureau.Another city that saw a decline in cognisable offences was Hyderabad, which reported about 2,000 fewer crimes in 2011 than in 2006.
The city that witnessed the biggest jump in cases was Kochi, where cognisable offences increased from 5,699 in 2006 to 34,658 in 2011.
