The judge remanded Asaduddin to judicial custody Until February 2 and posted the hearing of his bail petition for Tuesday.
It may be recalled here that a roadside mosque at Muttangi town in Medak district was demolished by the administration to make way for the road widening work, sparking a massive protest led by Asaduddin.
While the protests forced the government to rebuild the mosque at the same place, the police booked a case against Asaduddin Owaisi, his younger brother and Member of Legislative Assembly Akbaruddin Owaisi and several others. A non-bailabale warrant against the brothers was issued four years ago, but none of them had appeared before the court so far.
Last week, the police had brought Akbaruddin from the Adilabad jail to Sangareddy. The court had directed the police to bring Asaduddin to the court.
