Torrential rains continued to lash Mumbai and coastal parts of Maharashtra for the second consecutive day on Monday, disrupting normal life in the region.

Flooding was reported from Malad, Andheri, Versova, Dadar, Parel, Chembur, many parts of the key LBS Marg in the eastern suburbs, and Marol-Saki Naka belt.

Traffic was moving at a snail's pace on the Eastern Express Highway, Western Express Highway, the Jogeshwari-Vikhroli Link Road and other important roads and junctions. The subways at Malad and Andheri were flooded.

Train services were also hit. Trains on the Western Line were running 15 to 20 minutes late, with a few trains being cancelled. On the Central line trains were running 45 minutes behind schedule.
Some flights were also delayed due to low visibility in the sky but no cancellations have been reported as yet.
