A major fire broke out on Thursday in a building at the high-security naval dockyard in Mumbai, fire brigade officials said.
Eight fire tenders, five water tankers and ambulance with paramedics were rushed to the spot, they said.
The building houses Admiral Superintendent Department.

The cause of the blaze is not yet known, the officials said, adding that the extent of damage and casualties, if any, were also not immediately ascertained.
According to the Mumbai fire brigade, the building close to the Lion's Gate had caught fire. The structure that has caught fire is known as HD building.

There are no new reports about injuries or loss of life. The entire stretch from Lion's Gate to Old Customs House is lined up with heritage buildings that were constructed in the colonial era.
