The biting cold and icy winds have aggravated the agony of several homeless people, who are living on the streets and warmed themselves by sitting around the bonfire.

Traffic was snarling on the roads due to poor visibility in wake of the dense fog, which had enveloped New Delhi.

Indian met department has predicted improvement in visibility as dense fog engulfed many regions across India.

The scientist and in-charge of the regional weather observatory in Delhi, M Duraisamy said that the weather condition has improved in the coming days.

Duraisamy also said that dense fog condition would disrupt air and rail services.

"During morning hours, fog will occur and then after 9'o clock, 10'o clock it will be lifted. This foggy condition will occur over parts of northwest India in the coming days. But this fog condition will not create any problem for public. Only air traffic problem will be there and some problem might occur in train services also. In general there is no problem for public," he added.
