BJP rebels plot Yeddyurappa's fall in New Delhi

Karanataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurapa is in deep trouble.

Fifty rebels of the Bharatiya Janata Party's Karanataka unit led by the Chief Minister's closest friend, K S Eshwarappa are in New Delhi seeking a change in the leadership.

This appears to be a serious problem for Yeddyurappa, as he faces the biggest dissent from within his party ever since he came to power.

A host of allegations of corruption against Yeddyurappa has helped rebels to really push their case hard and believe that this is their best chance to get him out of the top seat.

BJP sources in Karnataka say the situation had gone from bad to worse for the Chief Minister.

The rebels claim that Yeddyurappa has become too arrogant and does not give his own party leaders a hearing.

They also feel that Yeddyurappa is giving away too much to those leaders, who have joined the BJP from other parties while their own party men are waiting for important posts.

However, the biggest setback for the Chief Minister was the special court's order on Thursday ordering the Lokayukta to probe the corruption cases.

The rebels feel that this is would be their trump card since a court will refer a matter for probe only if it feels that there is a prima facie case on hand.

However, Yeddyurappa who is in Bengaluru appears to be unfazed by all these developments.

He refuses to accept that there is a crisis on hand and says that the party leaders are in Delhi to seek more funds for the state.

"They are in the national capital to speak with senior leaders. There is no rebellion and they have gone there with my permission," he said.
