India has offered to sell light arms and medium guns and ammunition to Zambia.
The offer of arms was made during the talks the visiting Commander of Zambian army Lt Gen Issac Chisuzi had with his Indian counterpart General JJ Singh and other top defence ministry officials, according to army sources in New Delhi.
"Wide ranging talks were held to identify various areas of mutual interest and cooperation with a view to expanding the existing defence agreements between the two countries," a defence ministry release said.
Chisuzi, heading a seven-member high level Zambian Military delegation, later also visited the Indo-Russian Brahmos cruise missile Aerospace centre.
During his six-day visit to New Delhi, Chisuzi, who has done his Junior Command course at Army infantry school at Mhow, would be touring some of the army's premier training institutions at Mhow and Pune.
Zambia had earlier brought some light arms and medium guns from India as also artillery and mortar shells.
