Yeddyurappa to reshuffle cabinet after meet?

Fresh after winning the second trust vote on Thursday, Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa on Friday called for a cabinet meeting on October 18, where he is expected to re-shuffle his state cabinet.

Interestingly, it's the same day that the high court hears the petition filed by the Independent MLAs who had challenged the order of the speaker to disqualify them.

Meanwhile, in a set back to the Janata Dal-Secular, senior MLA M Ashwath tendered his resignation on Friday. Confirming this, the speaker of the assembly said the resignation has been accepted.

This, however, will not make much of a difference to the numbers in the House since the MLA had abstained from voting on Friday when the government faced the second trust vote.
