Will B S Yeddyurappa be able to pull down the Bharatiya Janata Party government in Karnataka?
A step towards achieving this target will be taken on Friday at his newly-launched Karnataka Janata Party national executive, which is on at the Hotel Capitol in Bengaluru.
Only 7 MLAs and 5 MLCs -- all who were part of the BJP -- have reached the national executive meet.
KJP sources, though, deny any plan of pulling down the government.
They say that the meeting is more aimed at discussing the future of the party and carve a road map for the state elections, which are around the corner.
Meanwhile, Yeddyurappa is likely to issue another threat to the BJP and urge the government to dissolve the House, as he believes that it had lost the confidence of a majority of the MLAs.
Sources told rediff.com that Yeddyurappa would not want to take the blame of de-stablising the government and would want it to fall on its own. He may, though, write to the Governor seeking a decision to dismiss the government.
The BJP has adopted a wait-and-watch policy.
It would decide on the future course of action depending on how Yeddyurappa would react to the situation.
Many in the political circles say that the BJP may opt for an early election.
There is a good chance of the party dissolving the House by January 16, sources add.
