Even as work on border road construction in Jammu and Kashmir was stopped after Chinese objection, Arunachal Chief Minister Doorjee Khandu has asserted that his government will not succumb to any such pressure.

Khandu said China has no right to object to infrastructure development in Arunachal Pradesh as the state is an "integral part of India".

"The development work would not be stopped just because somebody says that this land belongs to him," he told journalists on Tuesday when asked whether his government would stop work on any infrastructure project if China objects.

"Arunachal Pradesh is an integral part of India. China cannot object to any development of infrastructure on our land. We are not bothered about their claims," Khandu added.

The work on a link-road in Demchok in South-eastern Ladakh region was stopped after objections were raised by the Chinese Army.

The incident took place at the village of Demchok on the Indian side of Line of Actual control, about 300-kms southeast of Leh district headquarters.

The Central government has given a Rs 24,000-crore package for development of various infrastructure like airports and roads to Arunachal Pradesh.
