Will go to court: Farooq Abdullah on Kejriwal's 'corrupt' list

Union Minister Farooq Abdullah on Friday said he will approach court and give "answer" to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for mentioning his name in his list of "corrupt" politicians.

"I am happy that my name figured in the list. I will go to the court and answer... I will ask him (Kejriwal) also," Abdullah told reporters after calling on Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam chief M Karunanidhi at his residence in Chennai.

Drawing up a list of "corrupt" politicians, Kejriwal said at the National Council meeting in Delhi, attended by the AAP workers, that the party would field candidates against them.

The list included several United Progressive Alliance ministers, Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh, Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati, Union Ministers P Chidambaram and Sushil Kumar Shinde and former Bharatiya Janata Party president Nitin Gadkari, among others.

After meeting the DMK patriarch for over 10 minutes, Abdullah said he was like Karunanidhi's son.

To a query whether the UPA was crumbling, he said, "Nobody is crumbling. There may be problems here and there. But the UPA will definitely emerge."

"I'm like his son and so didn't discuss politics," he said, when queried whether any discussion on politics took place during his meeting.

Asked about reports of meeting of NCP leader Sharad Pawar with BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, he said, "Anybody can meet anybody. We meet friends and we also meet enemies. Anyone can meet anyone in a democracy."

Pawar has, however, rubbished the reports, saying "News of my meeting with Narendra Modi in New Delhi on January 17 appeared in a newspaper. (It) is completely mischievous, baseless and false."
