Telangana Rashtra Samiti supremo K Chandrashekhar Rao said that he will go on a hunger strike from February if the bill to form a separate Telangana state is not introduced in the Parliament till then.

Rao's decision came at the Joint Action Committee meeting held in Hyderabad on Thursday night, hours after the Srikrishna Commission was made public.

"I don't care even if I lose my life. I will put pressure on the government to pass the bill for the creation of Telangana," Rao said.

The JAC said that the time for talks over the demand for a separate state was over. "No more committees, commissions or talks with the Union government. The government has to now keep its word," it said.

Home Minister P Chidambaram had said on December 9 that the process for formation of a seperate Telangana had begun. The JAC said that if this was not done, they would start a peaceful non-cooperation movement in the region till their demands were fulfilled.

The JAC has also decided to support the bandh call given by pro-Telangana students for Friday. It also demanded that para-military forces should be withdrawn from the Osmania university campus.
