West Bengal: Bomb blast kills 2

Two persons, including a child, died and another person was injured in a bomb blast at Mahabbatpur village near India-Bangladesh border, the police said on Wednesday.

S K Marfat (50) died when one of the bombs he was making with S K Anis went off on Tuesday night. His one-year-old grandson who was sleeping nearby also died in the blast.

Anis was seriously injured and shifted to Malda Sadar hospital.

Superintendent of Police, Malda, Satyajit Bandyopadhyay said Marfat was a cattle smuggler and was wanted in several cases. Anis was his associate.

In another incident at Gayesbari village in Kaliachak in the district, one youth died when two gangs of anti-socials fired at each other.
