The 20 per cent water cut, imposed by the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai, has been lifted and full water supply restored, a senior official said on Monday.

No further cut is expected in the near future unless any repair work or cleaning at the pumping end is required at the end of the month, Chief Hydraulic Engineer Hari Mane told PTI.

Twenty per cent water cut was imposed since January 3 in Mumbai to carry out expansion of the water supply network. The water cut was lifted on Sunday night.

The cross connection work took place at Panjrapole to bring additional water to the metropolis, he said.

On December 27, the MCGM had completely stopped water supply to the city for a day to carry out repair work on the pipelines. This major work was to bring additional water to the meet the needs of evergrowing population of the city.
