Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader Praveen Togadia on Wednesday said the Nehru-Liaquat Ali pact in regard to protecting religious places should be implemented in both Pakistan and India.

"The Nehru-Liaquat Ali pact to protect religious places should be implemented in both countries," he told mediapersons in Ratlam.

There were two Shakti Peeths in Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir and one of it -- Hinglaj Mata temple -- is facing the threat of being submerged in dam being constructed by Pakistan, he said.

The VHP leader said a party delegation will ask the Centre to persuade Pakistan to stop the dam construction, adding that if the government fails in this regard, scores of VHP activists will march across the border to Pakistan to save the temple.

The VHP was committed to protecting the Hindus across the world, he said adding that it wants that the Sri Lankan government should protect the rights of the Tamil Hindus in accordance with Rajiv-Jayawardene pact, he said.
