Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be hosted at a private dinner at the White House on Monday evening.

Barack and Michelle Obama would no doubt have liked to offer their guest a super meal, but, alas, Modi is fasting for the festival of Navratri.

All that the Indian leader has consumed since he landed in New York on Friday, September 26, are glasses of hot water.

So will Namo make an exception for Barack and Michelle and have a nimbu-paani at 1600, Pennsylvania Avenue?
