Powell also reiterated the US commitment that a full probe would be conducted into the matter, official sources said.
"It was a pre-scheduled meeting to discuss bilateral
issues. During the meeting, the foreign secretary asked about the US inquiry into its Navy ship firing in which an Indian fisherman was killed and three others were wounded," sources said.
They said the US ambassador reiterated her country's commitment to carry out full investigation into the incident. "Powell also told Mathai that the US will share the inquiry report with India," the sources add.
