The Bahujan Samaj Party on Friday accused the Samajwadi Party government in the state of extorting money in the name of transfer of officials.
Leader of Opposition in Vidhan Sabha and BSP state president Swami Prasad Maurya said, "the government is overlooking the transfer policy and within 70 days of its formation 90 per cent IAS, IPS, PCS and PPS officers have been transferred".
He alleged that around 60 per cent administrative officers have been transferred twice or thrice in the last two months.
"Besides 42 police personnel have been transferred. The government is extorting money in the name of transfers," he alleged.
He said that under the transfer policy there was a tradition of maximum 15 per cent transfers.
"After the SP came to power development works have come to a standstill in all the departments due to rampant transfers," he alleged.
The BSP president alleged that by giving punishment posting to SC/ST officers and employees the government has exhibited its anti-Dalit mentality.
He said that during regime of BSP supremo Mayawai as CM, officers were given posting on the basis of seniority and ability without any discrimination or bias.
"The CM should stop harassment of officers and employees in the name of biased transfer and stop revenue loss worth several thousand crore rupees by transfer allowance," Maurya said.
