ULFA militants slay former accomplice

United Liberation Front of Assam militants on Monday shot dead a former accomplice in Bogadhar Gogoi at Borbam village of Upper Assam.

Security sources informed that two ULFA militants -- identified as Madhurya Gohain and Rumdra Gogoi -- were involved in the killing.

The slain person, who was shot dead at his residence, was a former member of the banned outfit and was working closely with security forces engaged in counter-insurgency

operations.

The ULFA had earlier warned him against working with the security forces. The police and the Army have launched an operation to nab the culprits.

The banned outfit, which is under pressure in Upper Assam areas following intensified army operation, has been targeting its former members.
