Britain plans to recruit a Hindu chaplain to the armed forces with a starting salary of £26,002 per annum.
The successful applicant will have an office in, and be administratively attached to, a major military establishment reasonably accessible from his home, a defence ministry statement said on Wednesday.
According to the release, the person will provide faith specific spiritual, moral and pastoral advice and support to personnel and their dependants, and conduct or arrange ceremonies and rites of passages.
The recruit will also lead communal prayers, it added.
