Two United States troopers were killed in a shooting incident near Frankfurt International Airport on Wednesday, according to media reports.

The incident took place near Terminal 2 of Germany's largest airport, when a gunman reportedly started firing at US military personnel inside a bus.

A passenger and the driver of the bus were killed in the incident, while two others were injured, said reports.

Pentagon and the White House refused to issue a statement on the shooting. German Chancellor Angela Merkel told reporters that two US military personnel had been killed and investigators were probing the incident.

According to the reports, Arif Uka, the gunman, was reportedly a resident of Mitrovica in Kosovo.

The two troopers were members of US Air Force stationed at Lakenheath base in the United Kingdom, said the reports.
