Two army troopers were injured in a powerful improvised explosive device blast near Chakala village in north Kashmir on Thursday morning.

A senior officer said, “The IED went off injuring two jawans. They were rushed to a hospital immediately. The explosive, which was planted by militants, also damaged a passing vehicle.”

The area has been cordoned off and search operations are still on.

Senior army and police officers along with reinforcements have reached the village.
