Amid row over cash-for-vote case, two Telangana Telugu Desam Party MLAs have lodged a complaint with anti corruption bureau alleging that the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi leaders, including Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, pressurised them to quit the TDP to join their party.
TDP legislators K Vivek Goud and S Rajender Reddy in a complaint addressed to ACB Director General A K Khan alleged that from August 2014 onwards state ministers K Taraka Rama Rao and T Harish Rao, at the instance of K Chandrasekhar Rao, “Have been trying to induce us to join their party."
“Initially, they started trying to lure us with money and also tried to convince us that we shall be offered good and potential opportunities or help us with any such ventures we wish to take up by seeing that everything is in pursuance of our request and desire will be taken care of by their party as it is heading the government with absolute majority,” the TDP MLAs submitted in the complaint on Wednesday.
The complainants claimed that as they are not yielding to their (TRS leaders) request, “There were attempts to threaten and intimidate us that our properties and business which are situated in Telangana state will be vandalised or damaged through designed mob attack and were also warned that our family members would also be harmed in such a manner that nobody can suspect.”
The complainants further alleged that the trio had lured several TDP MLAs by offering money and ministerial positions.
“They (TRS leaders) said that many other MLAs are in talks with them and they are being offered money in a big way with the sole aim to destroy the existence of TDP in Telangana. A clandestine exercise at the instance of Rama Rao and Harish Rao under the aegis of Chandrasekhar Rao is being undertaken with the sole aim and object of wiping out Telugu Desam Party from Telangana state,” the TDP MLAs alleged and requested to register a case against them and all concerned, and enquire into the matter in accordance with law more particularly under the provisions of Prevention of Corruption Act.
