Trinamool Congress leader shot dead

A local Trinamool Congress leader was shot dead by unknown gunmen on Friday evening at Bally in Howrah district. The police said the bullet riddled body of Tapan Dutta was found lying at about 9.30 pm near a railway level-crossing at Ghoshpara in Bally.

Nobody was arrested and the police have launched a manhunt for the assailants.

Dutta was a leader of Trinamool Youth Congress in the district.
