Traces of poison and alcohol have been found in the viscera of Fiza aka Anuradha Bali, the estranged second wife of former Haryana deputy chief minister Chander Mohan, whose highly decomposed body was found at her Mohali residence a month back.

"We have found traces of ethyl alcohol, the alcohol that people commonly consume, as well as aluminium phosphide commonly called celphos, a poisonous substance generally used to keep away rodents and other pests when items like wheat are stored in huge quantities," an official in the Punjab State Chemical Laboratory at Kharar in Mohali district said on Saturday.

The official, who did not wish to be identified, said they would not like to draw any conclusion on whether Fiza had committed suicide or not, adding it was for the investigating agencies to find out.

"We have forwarded the report to the Mohali Civil Hospital by registered post," he said. The official said they had conducted the chemical analysis after receiving the viscera in sealed saline solution.

The Mohali police said they were yet to receive the report and would comment only after going through its contents.

The police had not found any suicide note from Fiza's house.

Earlier, the experts had found no traces of poison in samples of liquor, soda, water and eatables collected from Fiza's Sector 48-C residence at Mohali in Punjab.

Three separate packages were received by the Kharar laboratory for analysis. One of these had Fiza's viscera while the second contained food particles she had consumed before her death. In the third package, the police had sent pieces of glass, bottle and drops of liquor for examination.

Three separate boards were formed to examine the each package.

The body of 39-year-old Fiza, who shot into the limelight four years ago following her controversial marriage to Chander Mohan, son of former Haryana chief minister Bhajan Lal, was found at her residence on August 6.
