At least three people were killed and seven others injured today in a bomb attack in the Nepalese capital where a number of government offices, including that of the prime minister, are located.
Three people were killed when the bomb exploded on a road between the office of Nepal Oil Corporation and Kathmandu District Court at Singhdubar. Seven people also injured in the attack. The site of the explosion is less than 100-metre
away from the main government administrative building that houses Prime Minister's Office and the Parliament Secretariat.
Those who sustained injuries in the incident were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment, according to sources at the Home Ministry and Army Headquarters.
The incident comes two days after the Nepal Oil Corporation slightly increased the price of petroleum products, second time in two months. Security has been beefed up in the area after the incident.
The cause of the blast was not immediately known. Police have cordoned the area and are investigating the matter. A manhunt has been launched to find out the culprits.
