Actor-turned-Bharatiya Janata Party Member of Parliament Shatrughan Sinha said that it is high time for Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to resign on the moral grounds since he is 'responsible' for the coal scam and cannot escape accountability.

Sinha, popularly known as 'Bihari Babu', appears angry against the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance government.

"It is too much now. The UPA government has become a government of scams and the PM has lost his face. He should step down immediately," Sinha told rediff.com.

The PM should not wait for people's verdict to announce his resignation because the government headed by him has been involved in scams such as Adarsh 2G, the Commonwealth Games scam, helicopter scam and the submarine scam.

"Scam after scam exposed during his tenure also ended the myth of an honest PM," Sinha said. Sinha who arrived in Patna on Sunday for the first time after a bypass surgery, said that he has recovered fully and will take part in all activities of the BJP, particularly in Bihar."

"I will join the protest against the price rise and the FDI on September 20," he said.
