Though the room manning division bench of the Supreme Court comprising of Justice Justice P Sathasivam and Justice Swatanter Kumar was packed to capacity to hear the order of the on Manu Sharma's petition challenging the Delhi High court order which had passed life sentence there was one person who was conspicuous by her absence.

"I did not go to the court to hear the order," Sabrina Lal told rediff.com.

"You can say that this was a sub-conscious decision as I had not gone even to Delhi High court when it passed orders against Manu Sharma and his friends. There was a certain amount of nervousness as one did not know which way the order will go. Thank God it's all over, I said to myself when I heard that the Supreme Court had upheld the order passed by the Delhi High court," Lal
said.

Ms Lal was glad that the court had relied on the evidence of four key witnesses namely Bina Ramani, her daughter Malani Ramani, George and Deepak Bhojwani who testified in the courts despite threats to their lives.

The defence's main contention was that Manu Sharma had been held guilty because of the media trail. "It wasn't media trail. Would you not raise the issues in newspapers and privately own television channels when you find that justice is not being done in a particular case. The court has taken notice of the public sentiments. But I want action against those who lied in the court during the trail. They all should be held accountable," Ms Sabrina Lal said.
