The army on Thursday warned of the possibility of terrorists attempting to disrupt peace in Jammu and Kashmir especially in view of the upcoming Independence Day.

"There is a need to be more vigilant in view of the possibility of terrorists attempting to disrupt the existing peace in the Region, especially during the coming days on account of the Independence Day," the security ddvisor to the Jammu and Kashmir and General Officer Commanding, White Knight Corps, Lieutenant General J P Nehra said.

He said, "The downward slide in terrorism should not lull us into complacency as the intentions of terrorists and their infrastructure across the LoC is still intact."

Nehra was addressing a Core Group Meeting at Headquarters of White Knight Corps, at Nagrota on Thursday evening.

Flanked by the director general of police, J&K, Kuldeep Khuda, he said that downward slide in terrorism was attributed to the dedication and effectiveness by all the security agencies in the state.
