Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament and Bharatiya Janata Party's spokesperson Prakash Javadekar has demanded that the Centre should take immediate and stringent action against terror outfit Indian Mujahideen and its sleeper modules. He was reacting to the low-intensity blast in Varanasi late on Tuesday evening, in which a girl was killed and 32 people were injured.

"The bomb attack on a pilgrimage city like Varanasi is a clear indication that the place has been selected with a design," Javadekar told rediff.com.

The attack comes a week before the anniversary of the attack on Parliament on December 13, 2001. The attack was jointly carried out by the Jaish-e-Mohammad and the Laskar-e-Tayiba.

He said that it is wrong to assume that Indian Mujahideen has become non-functional just because it has been banned.
