After his deportation and arrest, Fasih Mohammed, a suspected Indian Mujahideen terrorist and an accused in the Delhi and Bangalore blasts, has been sent to ten-day police custody by a Delhi court.

Fasih's counsel S I Alam said he was remanded ten-day custody of Delhi Police Special Cell by a Magistrate on Monday evening. Fasih was deported from Saudi Arabia and was arrested by the Special Cell at the IGI airport. He was detained in Saudi Arabia in May this year. His elder brother Sabih Mehmood said he and his counsel Alam met Fasih for 20-25 minutes at the Special Cell office.

Hailing from Bihar and a mechanical engineer by profession, Fasih is accused of being the "key facilitator" for 15 suspected Indian Mujahideen terrorists who were arrested from Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and a few other places late last year. He is accused of being involved in the 2010 blast in Bangalore's Chinaswamy stadium and Jama Masjid shootout case, along with seven other IM men -- Mohammed Qateel Siddiqui, Aftab Alam, Mohammed Tariq Anjum Hassan, Gayur Ahmad Jamali, Gauhar Aziz Khomaini, all arrested by Special Cell. Two others namely Kamal Hassan and Mohammed Kafeel Akhtar were arrested by the Bangalore police.

His name had cropped up during the interrogation of suspected IM terrorists arrested during the last one year. While the Saudi authorities confirmed his detention there, they conveyed that they were closely examining his role and stay in that country. Fasih's wife Nikhat Parveen had approached the Supreme Court claiming that her husband was in the custody of Indian security agencies, a charge denied by the government.
