Assam: Sukhois stationed at IAF base at Chabua

The Sukhoi-30 Mki was formally inducted at the Air Force Station at Chabua base in Assam on Tuesday. The induction was done through a ceremony with the inaugural flight of the SU 30 MKI taking off which also performed a overshoot before landing, according to a defence source.

Air Command, Air Commodore Mrigendra Singh, Air officer Commanding Air Force Station Chabua, senior officers from the Indian Army and Indian Air Force as well as dignitaries were present on the occasion.

Speaking to the media on the occasion, the Air Marshal Nowhar said that the Vijaynagar runway in the frontier state of Arunachal Pradesh was being repaired and will be soon open to operations of the fixed wing aircraft for better air maintenance.
