Over 250 members of Samajwadi Party were arrested across Uttar Pradesh on Monday while staging demonstrations as part of the party's state-wide stir against "corruption and atrocities" by the Bahujan Samaj Party government.
As many as hundred SP leaders and workers were arrested in the collectorate premises in Ghaziabad while demonstrating against the BSP government, Viresh Raj Sharma, Dasna jail superintendent said.
Among those arrested were Ghaziabad President Aulad Ali, Ghaziabad Mahanagar President Ram Kishore Agarwal, District Secretary Dham Bir Dabas, he said.

The SP has launched a three-day 'BSP hatao, UP bachao' agitation from on Monday. SP supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav had said on February 26 that their agitation against the BSP rule in Uttar Pradesh would be totally peaceful and would aim at exposing the misdeeds of the state government. "Our agitation will be totally non-violent. We will expose corrupt deeds of the BSP government during the stir," he had told party workers and office-bearers in Lucknow.
